{"id":11402,"date":"2026-09-10T15:04:18","date_gmt":"2026-09-10T15:04:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.ccocert.org\/?p=11402"},"modified":"2026-10-20T18:18:15","modified_gmt":"2026-10-20T18:18:15","slug":"nccco-publishes-employer-guides-to-the-new-crane-rule","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ccocert.org\/en\/nccco-publishes-employer-guides-to-the-new-crane-rule\/","title":{"rendered":"NCCCO Publishes Employer Guides to the New Crane Rule"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>November 21, 2018<\/em>\u2014Following the publication of OSHA\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/documents\/2018\/11\/09\/2018-24481\/cranes-and-derricks-in-construction-operator-qualification\" title=\"\" target=\"_blank\">Final Rule<\/a>&nbsp;on crane operator qualifications, and the triggering, on November 10, of the requirement for crane operators to be certified nationwide, NCCCO has published three Employer Guides, one each on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nccco.org\/docs\/default-source\/osha\/crane-operator-training---employers-guide-112118c.pdf?sfvrsn=45dbfb0e_2\" title=\"Crane Operator Training - Employers Guide 112118c\" target=\"_blank\">training<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nccco.org\/docs\/default-source\/osha\/employers-guide---certification-112118f2.pdf?sfvrsn=583ec40e_2\" title=\"Employers Guide - Certification 112118f2\" target=\"blank\">certification<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nccco.org\/docs\/default-source\/osha\/crane-operator-evaluation---employers-guide-112118d.pdf?sfvrsn=7ddbfb0e_2\" title=\"Crane Operator Evaluation - Employers Guide 112118d\" target=\"_blank\">evaluation<\/a>&nbsp;requirements covered by the Rule.<\/p>\n<p>The Guides adhere to the language of the Rule, but the Q&amp;A format employed is designed to make the information more accessible, said NCCCO CEO, Graham Brent. \u201cSince OSHA has identified a three-step process to achieving qualification as a crane operator, it seemed to make sense to create individual Guides for each,\u201d he said.
